XVIII SUNDAY IN ORDINARY TIME Priest: “Let no one have contempt for you, but set an example for those who believe, in speech, conduct, love, faith, and purity.” (1Timothy 4:12) O revered Curé of Ars, the conduct of your life was a model of love, faith, and purity. One pilgrim said of you: “We would have taken him for an angel in a mortal body”, and thus you taught others. With charm and enthusiasm, you preached to the people of Ars about these beautiful virtues which you said resembled the perfume of a vineyard in bloom. You, who have directed so many souls towards the heights of virtue, defend me against temptations and obtain for me the strength to conquer them. O Saint John Vianney, I ask you to help me keep pure in mind and body and to give good example in my speech, in my conduct, and in my faith. Holy priest of Ars, I have confidence in your intercession. together we pray the Novena Prayer — O holy Curé of Ars, St. John Vianney, here on earth you loved God and faithfully served Him by serving His people as their Priest. Daily you prayed for your people, you did penance on their behalf, you preached the Gospel by word and example. Ask God on our behalf to send workers into His vineyard, and especially to raise up among us a new generation of ardent and faithful Priests to feed us with the Bread of Life and strengthen us by the forgiveness of our sins. Remember the vulnerabilities, fears, and anxieties that surround us and intercede for us in all our needs, especially….(here mention your own personal request). O Priest of Ars, pray for us in a special way during this novena, we ask through Christ our Lord. Amen

XVIII DOMINGO DEL TIEMPO ORDINARIO Sacerdote: «Que nadie te menosprecie, sino sé ejemplo para los creyentes en palabra, conducta, amor, fe y pureza» (1 Timoteo 4:12). Oh venerado Cura de Ars, tu vida fue un modelo de amor, fe y pureza. Un peregrino dijo de ti: «Lo habríamos tomado por un ángel en un cuerpo mortal», y así enseñaste a otros. Con encanto y entusiasmo, predicaste a la gente de Ars sobre estas hermosas virtudes que, según decías, se asemejaban al perfume de un viñedo en flor. Tú, que has guiado a tantas almas hacia las alturas de la virtud, defiéndeme de las tentaciones y concédeme la fuerza para vencerlas. Oh San Juan Vianney, te pido que me ayudes a mantenerme puro de mente y cuerpo, y a ser buen ejemplo en mi palabra, en mi conducta y en mi fe. Santo sacerdote de Ars, confío en tu intercesión. Juntos rezamos la Novena: Oh santo Cura de Ars, San Juan Vianney, aquí en la tierra amaste a Dios y le serviste fielmente como sacerdote de su pueblo. Diariamente orabas por tu pueblo, hacías penitencia por ellos y predicabas el Evangelio con la palabra y el ejemplo. Pide a Dios, por nosotros, que envíe obreros a su viña y, especialmente, que suscite entre nosotros una nueva generación de sacerdotes fervientes y fieles que nos alimenten con el Pan de Vida y nos fortalezcan con el perdón de nuestros pecados. Recuerda las vulnerabilidades, los temores y las ansiedades que nos rodean e intercede por nosotros en todas nuestras necesidades, especialmente… (menciona aquí tu petición personal).
