FEAST OF SAINT JOHN VIANNEY Priest: “As you received Christ Jesus the Lord, walk in him, rooted in him and built upon him and established in the faith as you were taught, abounding in thanksgiving.” (Colossians 2:6-7) O revered Curé of Ars, you lived in an age of political upheaval and war, a time when men turned their backs on God. In assigning you to Ars, your bishop warned you that it was a parish where there was no love. He wished for you to be a Priest who would enable the people to know the love of God. Not only did you renew your congregation, but your holy reputation soon spread and through your efforts many people were drawn to a life of devotion to God. O Saint John Vianney, once again we are living in a time of upheaval. There is much evil in the world. Obtain for me the grace to persevere in my faith and draw me closer to God. May I walk with the Lord and trust in Him all the days of my life. Obtain, through your intercession, an increase in vocations and a priesthood full of love of God with men who are able to bring the world to Jesus Christ. together we pray the Novena Prayer — O holy Curé of Ars, St. John Vianney, here on earth you loved God and faithfully served Him by serving His people as their priest. Daily you prayed for your people, you did penance on their behalf, you preached the Gospel by word and example. Ask God on our behalf to send workers into His vineyard, and especially to raise up among us a new generation of ardent and faithful priests to feed us with the Bread of Life and strengthen us by the forgiveness of our sins. Remember the vulnerabilities, fears, and anxieties that surround us and intercede for us in all our needs, especially….(here mention your own personal request). O Priest of Ars, pray for us in a special way during this novena, we ask through Christ our Lord. Amen

FIESTA DE SAN JUAN MARÍA VIANNEY Sacerdote: «Así como recibieron a Cristo Jesús como Señor, vivan unidos a él: arraigados y edificados en él, firmes en la fe tal como se les enseñó y rebosantes de gratitud». (Colosenses 2, 6-7) Oh venerado Cura de Ars, viviste en una época de agitación política y guerra, un tiempo en el que los hombres daban la espalda a Dios. Al destinarte a Ars, tu obispo te advirtió que era una parroquia donde no había amor. Deseaba que fueras un sacerdote capaz de hacer que la gente conociera el amor de Dios. No solo renovaste a tu comunidad, sino que tu santa fama pronto se extendió y, gracias a tus esfuerzos, muchas personas se sintieron atraídas hacia una vida de devoción a Dios. Oh San Juan María Vianney, una vez más vivimos tiempos de agitación. Hay mucho mal en el mundo. Alcánzame la gracia de perseverar en mi fe y acércame más a Dios. Que pueda caminar con el Señor y confiar en Él todos los días de mi vida. Obtén, por tu intercesión, un aumento de las vocaciones y un sacerdocio lleno del amor de Dios, con hombres capaces de llevar el mundo a Jesucristo. Rezamos juntos la oración de la novena: Oh santo Cura de Ars, San Juan María Vianney: aquí en la tierra amaste a Dios y le serviste fielmente sirviendo a su pueblo como sacerdote. Rezabas a diario por tu gente, hacías penitencia en su nombre y predicabas el Evangelio con la palabra y el ejemplo. Pide a Dios, en nuestro nombre, que envíe obreros a su viña y que, especialmente, suscite entre nosotros una nueva generación de sacerdotes fervorosos y fieles que nos alimenten con el Pan de Vida y nos fortalezcan mediante el perdón de nuestros pecados. Ten presentes las fragilidades, los temores y las angustias que nos rodean e intercede por nosotros en todas nuestras necesidades, especialmente… (menciona aquí tu petición personal).
